Job summary

ElectroCraft, Inc. designs and manufactures precision fractional-horsepower motors and motion control products for medical, robotics, and automation applications.

The Design Engineer will design, develop, and optimize electric motor components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet performance, efficiency, and reliability goals. The role requires a strong engineering background, hands-on CAD and FEA experience, and a passion for advancing motor technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in design engineering.
• 3+ years in electric motor or rotating machinery design.
• Experience with EV/AMR/AGV motor design.
• Knowledge of control systems and motor drive technologies.
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma familiarity.
• Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Experience with FEA tools for thermal and electromagnetic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electric motor components and systems using CAD.
• Perform FEA and thermal/electromagnetic simulations.
• Prototype, test, and validate designs to meet performance targets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability.
• Prepare technical docs including specifications, test reports, and BOM.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce weight and cost.
• Ensure designs comply with UL, IEC, and NEMA standards.
• Manage multiple design projects and deadlines.
