Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking a distribution planning engineer in the US (Morristown, NJ or Wallingford, CT) to support grid modernization and DER integration efforts. You will perform planning studies, evaluate system performance, and prepare technical recommendations for utilities and clients.

The role requires an ABET‑accredited engineering degree with several years of experience, proficiency with CYME/Synergi and other tools, and strong communication skills. PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or related field with 3 years of experience.
• Master's in engineering or business with 2 years of experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform distribution planning studies (load flow, reliability, hosting capacity, DER impact).
• Use industry software to model distribution systems.
• Analyze performance, voltage, loading, reliability, and recommend upgrades.
