Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Sr. Design Technician to support electric distribution design projects. This role involves field data collection, preparing construction drawings and bills of materials, and performing pole analysis while mentoring junior technicians.

You will collaborate with engineers and crews, travel as needed, and ensure designs comply with RUS/NESC and permitting requirements, delivering high-quality results on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a design technician or related utility design role.

Responsibilities

• Perform field visits to collect data on utility poles and electrical infrastructure for design packages.
• Design overhead and underground distribution systems, prepare construction drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Provide calculations such as pole loading, voltage drop, and cost estimating.
• Conduct pole analysis modeling, develop materials lists, GIS reviews, and update design prints.
• Lead junior technicians through data collection, drafting, and design standards.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting quality, schedule, and client expectations.
• Apply safety rules, client standards, and regulatory requirements (RUS, NESC, permitting).
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and construction crews; participate in walkdowns and coordination meetings.
• Work independently with strong communication and documentation practices.
