Job summary

The State of Maryland seeks an Election Program Manager II to direct and supervise local election programs, including absentee voting, voter registration, and voting systems. You will set policies, manage resources, oversee budgets, and coordinate with the State Board of Elections, county officials, vendors and contractors to resolve program issues.

You may work evenings, weekends or holidays and travel to polling sites during an election cycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of experience applying election laws, rules and procedures in a local election office.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates all activities of a local Board of Election program or programs (e.g., absentee voting, voter registration, voting systems, election judge hiring and training).
• Establishes policies and procedures for the program(s) and oversees implementation and revisions.
• Manages personnel and financial resources of the program(s) and develops budgets.
• Represents the department to other agencies (State Board of Elections, local Election Boards).
• Performs other related duties.
