Job summary

Jobtailor in Bethesda, MD seeks an Elasticsearch Engineer to design and manage large-scale indexing and search clusters. You will optimize performance, monitor security, and collaborate with DevOps to integrate Elasticsearch into applications and workflows.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, mentoring, and documenting configurations. Active TS/SCI clearance required, with CI Poly ability. Experience with ELK stack and large data environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 8+ years of engineering experience, or Master’s with 1–2 years in Elasticsearch.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Poly.
• Experience with full System Development Life Cycle and test plans.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Elasticsearch clusters for large-scale indexing and search.
• Optimize performance through tuning, query optimization, and scaling.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, and security with proactive measures.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate Elasticsearch into applications and workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex Elasticsearch issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Implement Elasticsearch security practices including access control and encryption.
• Stay current with ELK developments and recommend upgrades or enhancements.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge and best practices.
• Document configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Support D3P Modernization program for DIA/NMEC OSINT capabilities.
