Job summary

Cedars-Sinai’s Project Management Office (PMO) within Enterprise Information Services leads large IT implementations and clinical infrastructure projects across departments. The Senior Project Manager will plan and coordinate all activities to implement information systems, guiding end-to-end delivery, governance, and vendor management.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of system implementation experience and PMI/ITIL‑based practices; PMP would be a plus.

Qualifications

  • Three+ years of experience managing system implementations.
  • Experience in project management using PMI and/or ITIL principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in health care, business, or a technical field preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end project management from intake and discovery to execution and post‑go‑live operations.
  • Facilitate executive strategic and operational planning and key decisions.
  • Manage major project portfolios including Data Infrastructure Modernization, Cloud Migrations, and CPO Clinic expansions.
  • Provide portfolio and intake support, evaluating and prioritizing new project requests.
  • Align strategic planning and operational activities with business and technical leaders.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, participate in product roadmap discussions, and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Mentor and coach junior project managers and team members on PM methodologies.
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery, governance, and efficiency.
  • Participate in departmental committees, leadership meetings, and special assignments.
  • Support go‑live readiness activities and coordinate after‑hours work during critical implementations.
  • Relocation to Los Angeles area preferred; remote candidates in approved states considered.

Job Description

Cedars‑Sinai’s Project Management Office (PMO) operates primarily under Enterprise Information Services (EIS) and Operational Effectiveness. The PMO drives the execution of strategic healthcare initiatives, including large‑scale IT implementations (e.g., Epic), clinical infrastructure build‑outs, and cross‑departmental investments.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating all activities necessary to implement various information systems. Key duties include:

  • End‑to‑end project management, from intake and discovery to execution and post‑go‑live operations.
  • Facilitating key decisions and executive strategic and operational planning.
  • Managing and overseeing major project portfolios, including Data Infrastructure Modernization, Cloud Migrations, and CPO Clinic expansions.
  • Providing portfolio and intake support, evaluating and prioritizing new project requests.
  • Aligning strategic planning and operational activities with business and technical leaders.
  • Managing vendor relationships, participating in product roadmap discussions, and coordinating issue resolution.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior project managers and team members on project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Leading continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery, governance, and operational efficiency.
  • Participating in departmental committees, leadership meetings, organizational initiatives, and special assignments.
  • Supporting go‑live readiness activities and occasionally coordinating after‑hours work during critical implementations.
  • Prefer candidates living locally or willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area; remote candidates from approved states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, Texas) are also considered.
Qualifications
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing system implementations, preferably in a healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, scope, cost, time, risk, quality, and communication using Project Management Institute and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation principles.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in health care, business, or a technical field highly preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
