Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking an EHS Specialist to provide internal consulting on environmental, health and safety programs for site leaders, lab, warehouse, and retail support teams. You will help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and uphold company EHS standards.

You will develop and enforce safety policies, train staff, and manage incident response and OSHA/EPA compliance efforts. This role requires strong communication, auditing, and program management skills and may

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience organizing or implementing facility-wide safety programs.
Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulatory compliance and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Support development and enforcement of safety and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and EHS program requirements.
Act as liaison to regulatory agencies during inspections and inquiries.
Assist in administration of employee safety training programs and track participation.
Identify required controls and safety equipment through job hazard analysis.
Review chemicals inventory and SDS library; train proper storage and disposal of chemicals and waste.
Partner to oversee emergency response activities at locations.
Conduct site safety audits and implement corrective actions to reduce risks.
Audit workplace records with HR to ensure training and recordkeeping accuracy.
