Job summary

Aptar Lincolnton is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead safety initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance at the site. You will champion a safety culture, manage programs, and collaborate with operations to reduce risk and injuries.

Ideal candidates have a background in safety and environmental management, knowledge of OSHA/EPA standards, and 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience required; Safety or Environmental Management preferred.
• 2-3 years in safety, health, and environment; accident investigations.
• Must have working knowledge of Federal OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Aptar’s global EHS management system and site strategies.
• Ensure communication is effective and timely; EHS&S reporting per policy.
• Maintain and improve upon existing safety and health related programs.
• Contributes to behavioral based safety programs.
• Identify and abate hazardous conditions or actions at plants.
• Encourage changes in safety objectives and plan programs.
• Assist plant in safety program management, planning, budgeting, and tracking.
• Execute safety trainings in plant.
• Develop and empower safety committees at each facility.
• Support plant leadership in meeting safety obligations.
• Conduct EHS audits at site; manage findings through closure.
• Ensure mandatory safety and health standards are satisfied.
• Coordinate site representatives and support them in reaching targets.
• Work with engineering to control hazards (noise, chemicals).
• Ensure safe procurement/storage/disposal of hazardous materials.
• Have procedures to prevent releases of harmful materials.
• Stay aware of regulatory landscape and alert stakeholders.
• Perform accident investigations and report findings.
• Eliminate hazards and unsafe practices with corrective actions.
• Organize, train and coordinate emergencies such as fires and rescues.
