Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Sr.

Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to partner with the EHS team, production leaders and cross-functional groups to improve workplace safety by assessing environments, systems and procedures and implementing compliant risk controls. This role conducts inspections, investigates incidents, leads EHS initiatives, delivers training, and drives continuous improvement across multiple Utah facilities, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Sciences or related technical field.
• 5-8 years of relevant EHS experience.
• Regulatory knowledge of federal/state/local regulations (Cal OSHA, CUPA, etc.).
• Proficient with MS Office and related productivity tools.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring, updating and maintaining policies, procedures and programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Apply EHS concepts to reduce risks and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis and reporting with corrective actions.
• Participate in EHS teams and programs, leading meetings and committees.
• Conduct workplace inspections across facilities and document results regularly.
• Promote awareness and training to prevent accidents and illnesses.
• Collaborate with production and EHS teammates to implement procedures and safety standards.
• Develop and deliver technical training; training at AV may be virtual or in person.
• Lead safety committees, Gemba walks and improvement initiatives.
• Assist with data trending, risk assessments and corrective action tracking.
• Test workplaces for environmental hazards and contribute to EMS development.
• Lead EHS projects and serve as subject matter expert as needed.
