Job summary

Bechtel Corporation seeks an EHS professional to implement project safety and health programs in Houston, TX, working with field crews and management. You will apply occupational safety practices on site, perform field tasks, and report to the Area ESH Lead or Deputy EHS Manager.

You will inspect sites, wear PPE, and support development of risk assessments, safety plans, and training. Strong regulatory knowledge and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in occupational safety, health, or a science discipline with 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent with different education.
• Alternative: Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant safety/health experience or 8+ years overall in safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with crews, field supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Integrate safety and health requirements into all project phases.
• Provide technical assistance on risk assessments and ESH plan development.
• Research and apply regulatory requirements; prepare clear reports.
• Support work planning and safety reviews for compliance.
• Develop and deliver safety plans, permits, and training.
• Participate in emergency response activities and investigations.
• Communicate safety requirements and integrate into contracts and operations.
• Conduct regular field inspections and monitor ESH performance.
• Apply trend analysis for field oversight and contractor interactions.
• Create and share safety communications via multiple media.
• Collaborate with other ESH team members across disciplines.
