Job summary

The Chemours Company is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant- Safety to join the Titanium Technologies team at the Delisle, MS site. This role reports to the EHS Manager and provides technical leadership to advance safety performance in high-hazard chemical operations.

You will partner with site personnel, leadership and regulators to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety management systems, audits, investigations and safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in a safety related field or a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS or engineering discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA General Industry, Recordkeeping, and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements; ability to interpret regulatory requirements and develop compliant safety systems.
• Knowledge of high hazard chemical or process safety management regulated facilities.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and PowerPoint).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by influence and drive safety excellence without direct supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, technical problem solving, training and implementation support for safety at high hazard chemical operations.
• Interface with site employees, leadership, regulatory agencies, unit operations, and be an active member of the site leadership team.
• Improve systems, procedures, processes, and ownership of safety and process safety management.
• Develop systems to implement and manage safety programs across the site.
• Conduct and support 1st and 2nd party workplace safety and PSM audits.
• Participate in and facilitate incident investigations as required.
• Serve as SME and site standard owner for Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Line and Equipment Break, Fall Protection and related safety elements.
• Review regulatory briefs and anticipate impact on EHS.
• Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices.
• Active participant of Site Safety Committee.
