Job summary

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in Indianapolis, IN, seeks an experienced EHS leader to guide safety, health, and environmental programs for a new specialty ceramic powder facility.

You will be the safety point person for major projects, overseeing contractor safety, planning, and field observations. The role requires implementing site-wide programs, conducting risk assessments, managing chemical inventories, and coordinating regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety/environmental field or related discipline.
• 7+ years in EHS roles within manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and contractor safety management.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, health, and environment activities for startup and expansion.
• Serve as primary safety rep for capital projects and field observations.
• Develop and maintain site EHS programs (LOTO, Hazard Communication, etc.).
• Manage contractor onboarding, safety plans, JSAs, permits, and training records.
• Support permitting with engineering, operations, and regulators.
• Conduct risk assessments, noise surveys, air monitoring, and dust studies.
• Lead chemical management including SDS, inventories, and training.
• Coordinate incident investigations and drive proactive safety culture.
• Partner with operations and maintenance to improve safety and compliance.
• Develop emergency response plans and preparedness exercises.

• Inthis role your primary responsibility will be to lead safety, health, andenvironmental activities supporting the startup, operation, and ongoingexpansion of a new specialty ceramic powder manufacturing facility
• Youwill have the opportunity to serve as the primary safety representativefor major capital projects, providing leadership for contractor safetymanagement, project safety planning, construction safety oversight, andfield safety observations
• Youwill develop, implement, and maintain site EHS programs including HazardCommunication, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry,Permit-to-Work, Hot Work, Contractor Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks,Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, and Emergency Response programs
• Youhave experience managing contractor onboarding and qualificationprocesses, including safety orientations, review of contractor safetyplans, job safety analyses (JSAs), permits, training records, andcompliance documentation
• Youwill also support facility permitting activities by working closely withengineering, operations, environmental consultants, and regulatoryagencies to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safetyrequirements
• Furtheryou will conduct workplace risk assessments, industrial hygiene studies,noise surveys, air monitoring, dust exposure assessments, ergonomicevaluations, and other EHS evaluations to identify and mitigate workplacehazards
• Additionally,you will lead chemical management initiatives including SDSadministration, chemical inventory management, hazard assessments, riskevaluations, storage reviews, employee training, and regulatory complianceactivities
• Coordinateincident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actionimplementation, and safety learning communications while driving aproactive safety culture throughout the facility
• Youhave experience partnering with operations, engineering, maintenance,quality, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for continuousimprovement in safety performance, regulatory compliance, and riskreduction
• Youwill develop and maintain emergency response plans, emergency actionprocedures, spill response programs, evacuation procedures, contractoremergency coordination plans, and site preparedness exercises

What makes you great

• Bachelor'sdegree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science,Engineering, Safety Management, or a related technical discipline
• 7+years of progressive EHS experience within manufacturing, construction,chemical processing, powder handling, industrial operations, or similarenvironments
• Demonstratedexperience supporting large capital projects and managing constructionsafety, contractor safety programs, and field safety activities duringfacility expansions or major installations
• Strongworking knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety requirements,contractor management practices, permit-to-work systems, confined spaceregulations, lockout/tagout requirements, and hazard communicationstandards
• Experiencedeveloping and implementing site EHS programs, policies, procedures,training programs, audits, and compliance systems
• Experienceconducting industrial hygiene studies, including occupational exposureassessments, noise monitoring, respiratory hazard evaluations, andparticulate or dust monitoring programs
• Familiaritywith environmental permitting requirements, regulatory inspections,hazardous waste management, stormwater compliance, air permittingconcepts, and environmental management systems
• Experiencemanaging chemical inventories, SDS programs, chemical risk assessments,process hazard reviews, and employee training related to hazardousmaterials
• Professionalcertifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certificationsare preferred
• Strongleadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability toinfluence contractors, operations personnel, engineers, and leadershipteams while building a world-class safety culture
• Requiredto work on-site in a manufacturing environment. This is not a remote orhybrid opportunity
