Zero Carbon Systems in Brighton, CO, seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Program Manager to lead the company’s EHS program, own the hazardous waste program end-to-end, and manage process safety in the laboratory and R&D environment.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in chemical operations and a proven record of implementing EHS best practices across diverse settings. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Director of Site Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in chemical operations and proven record of implementing EHS best practices across a range of environments.
  • Experience leading EHS programs and safety documentation.
  • Experience with hazardous waste, process safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the EHS program strategy, standards, and cross-site compliance.
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and corrective actions across facilities.
  • Coordinate with regulators and industry groups on permits and reports.
  • Own hazardous waste program including shipping, manifests, and records.
  • Lead HAZID/HAZOP/PHA/JHA and manage safety documentation.
  • Oversee contractor safety and onboarding for on-site work.
  • Identify health hazards and implement exposure controls and monitoring.
  • Investigate incidents and develop prevention strategies.
