Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Safety Professional to embed EHS expertise into a biologics manufacturing environment. The role acts as the single point of contact to integrate safety into daily activities and business processes.

Key duties include hazard identification, environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and incident management. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in EHS and a Bachelor’s in a relevant field, with strong communication skills to influence a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Conceptual and practical knowledge of environmental compliance and regulations (federal, state, local).
• Understanding core safety principles and GMP/Non-GMP environments in biologics manufacturing.
• Ability to solve complex environmental and regulatory problems with independent judgment.
• Knowledge of integrating environmental stewardship with Operations, Engineering and Quality.
• Strong communication to build understanding across organizational levels.
• Experience leading or contributing to moderate-sized projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Hazard identification and environmental risk assessment to determine liabilities and compliance risks.
• Design and implement environmental monitoring strategies for compliance requirements.
• Ensure site compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, DOT, NIOSH, ACGIH standards and guidance.
• Develop and deliver training on hazard awareness and controls.
• Own site-level programs that impact operational groups.
• Lead safety investigations and implement mitigation to prevent recurrence.
