Job description

Step Into a Day Shaping Safety at Scale

Prysmian, the world’s leading manufacturer of wire and cable, powers connections everywhere—from underground and underwater power transmission to the optical fiber and copper networks that carry voice, video, and data. Our North American footprint expanded in 2024 with the acquisition of McKinney, Texas-based Encore Wire. With nearly 9,000 team members in North America and 33,000 globally, you’ll join a company committed to excellence and to transforming the world around us.

As our Senior EHS Operations Partner, you are the on-the-floor catalyst for a world-class, interdependent safety culture. You’ll work directly with site Operations leaders to embed ownership and accountability for Environment, Health & Safety (EHS). You will report directly to the Safety Manager and maintain a dotted-line relationship with the Plant Manager for your area(s) of responsibility.

A Day in the Role
  • Start your day with a focused floor walk, identifying hazards and coaching supervisors on safe work practices.
  • Facilitate targeted risk assessments and implement defenses to control exposures before they become incidents.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and training teams to craft equipment-specific LOTO procedures and clear standard work.
  • Lead a skills-up session in the afternoon—delivering EHS training that’s relevant, engaging, and actionable.
  • If an incident or near miss occurs, you coordinate documentation, guide the investigation team through root cause analysis, and lock in corrective actions.
  • Prepare for upcoming audits and meet with regulatory agencies as needed, ensuring compliance is both met and sustained.
  • Support light environmental tasks—waste inspections, spill cleanup, and pump-outs—keeping the workplace safe and compliant.
Scope & Influence

This role is designed for professionals with 5+ years of HSE experience who demonstrate deep OSHA knowledge, advanced root cause analysis capability, and the confidence to operate independently in high-risk environments. You’ll be a go-to resource and subject matter expert in one or more Occupational Safety & Health areas, and you may support regional initiatives or other Prysmian NA facilities as projects arise.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide technical safety and health support and guidance to the site Operations team.
  • Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
  • Develop and execute the site safety improvement plan.
  • Perform risk assessments of operations and implement controls to protect employees from uncontrolled risk.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and training to develop equipment-specific LOTO, standard work instructions, and related procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of workplace injuries and near misses: document incidents, lead investigation teams, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations applicable to the environment.
  • Conduct and assist with internal and external HSE audits; meet with regulatory agencies during inspections/audits as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental, or a related technical field; equivalent direct HSE experience may substitute.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NIOSH, ANSI, NEC, and TCEQ.
  • Knowledge of Texas Worker’s Compensation regulations.
  • Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (14001 & 45001) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel periodically for meetings and participation in other site audits.
  • Must be bilingual (Spanish speaking).
What Helps You Thrive Here
  • Collaborative approach that builds a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Customer-service mindset—treating partners upstream and downstream with respect.
