Job summary

Hydro, Inc. is seeking an operations-savvy EHS leader to advance a safety-first culture across North American sites. You’ll own governance, write safety programs, and drive measurable compliance with OSHA and related regulations.

In this role, you’ll partner with Operations, HR, and leadership to reduce incidents, improve claim outcomes, and build scalable safety systems that satisfy customers and regulators while supporting a growth-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety, EHS, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in corporate safety/EHS within multi-site manufacturing or industrial environments.
• OSHA expertise plus strong experience with workers’ compensation and compliance standards.
• Experience with ISNetworld or similar contractor management tools.
• Competence in incident tracking, OSHA reporting, EMR management, and analytics.
• Clear communicator, highly organized, and effective project manager.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and virtual training platforms.
• Willingness to travel periodically across North America.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain the corporate safety governance model across North American sites.
• Write, refresh, and control corporate and customer-specific safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and provincial regulations.
• Track performance: OSHA recordables, DART, lost workday rates, EMR, and injury trends.
• Manage OSHA 300/300A logs and Injury Tracking Application submissions.
• Coordinate OSHA inspections, audits, complaints, citations, and corrective actions.
• Lead OSHA Safety Week participation enterprise-wide in the U.S. and Canada.
• Administer ISNetworld, Veriforce, and Avetta profiles and requirements.
• Turn around customer safety questionnaires, audits, and time-critical requests.
• Maintain customer training records, certifications, and policy documentation online.
• Provide COIs, workers’ compensation records, and other required documentation.
• Run new hire safety orientations in person and via Microsoft Teams.
• Publish weekly/monthly toolbox talks, quizzes, handouts, and learning materials.
• Manage DISA training and Drug & Alcohol Program compliance.
• Oversee PPE reimbursement programs for equipment, footwear, and safety eyewear.
• Build facility safety checklists, safety booklets, and acknowledgments.
• Coordinate training on forklifts, overhead cranes, active shooter response, emergency preparedness, and COVID-related topics.
• Be accountable for vehicle and forklift maintenance; implement an equipment preventive maintenance program.

• Drive injury and illness prevention programs across the region.
• Handle workers’ compensation: open claims with carriers, manage leave, and lead investigations.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Operations, and insurers on return-to-work strategies.
• Interface with AIG/Horton and Travelers Insurance for reporting and communications.
• Manage motor vehicle reporting, monitoring, and accident reviews.
• Advance emergency preparedness, disaster recovery planning, and major event communications.
• Support nuclear-related insurance inquiries and environmental compliance questionnaires.

Leadership cadence

• Be the trusted industrial safety advisor to Operations Managers and leaders.
• Run safety meetings, conduct site assessments and audits, and complete quarterly visits.
• Partner with Corporate HR on policy development and maintenance.
• Field ad hoc regulatory, compliance, and employee requests.
• Present safety data and insights in company forums.

What you bring

Baseline
