Job summary

Abbott is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to lead and continuously improve EHS programs across Abbott Toxicology's manufacturing, distribution, and office locations. This role drives safety culture, compliance, and risk reduction while meeting regulatory requirements.

The Senior Manager partners with division leadership, operations, engineering, quality, HR, and regulators to protect employees and support business performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional leadership role.
• Demonstrated expertise in EHS regulations, compliance, and risk management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve EHS programs across all Toxicology locations, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and execute the division's EHS strategy to advance safety, environmental stewardship, and risk reduction.
• Provide leadership and direction to site EHS teams, fostering consistency, accountability, and capability development.
• Partner with operations, engineering, quality, HR, and business leaders to integrate EHS into daily operations and strategic initiatives.
• Drive EHS performance through audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, data analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Oversee Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, compliance programs, and regulatory readiness.
• Manage EHS budgets, capital projects, and investments to strengthen compliance and reduce operational risk.
• Serve as the primary contact for Corporate EHS, regulatory agencies, legal, and insurance partners.
• Champion a culture of safety, sustainability, and accountability across the organization.
