Job summary

Abbott in Sturgis, MI is seeking a Manager, Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security (EHS&S) to lead the development and implementation of EHS&S programs across the site, ensuring compliance with FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies while protecting employees and the surrounding community.

You will oversee a team of 11, manage budgets, train staff, coordinate audits, and act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies, driving continuous improvement and safeguarding operations in the Abbott Nutrition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in EHS roles across industries.
• Strong knowledge of applicable EHS regulatory standards and compliance.
• Experience managing plant-wide EHS programs and teams.
• Ability to interact with regulatory agencies, leadership, and staff.
• Experience managing EHS and security budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage plant-wide Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) programs in alignment with corporate, divisional, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Corporate, Federal, State, and local EHS laws and regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and maintain strong relationships.
• Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to management and staff on EHS&S matters.
• Develop and deliver high-quality EHS&S training programs for employees at all levels.
• Conduct audits of EHS&S programs, identify improvements, and ensure corrective actions.
• Evaluate new equipment, materials, processes, and procedures for EHS&S compliance.
• Oversee and coordinate emergency response activities for the site.
• Manage EHS&S and security budgets and ensure effective resource allocation.
• Supervise and support a team of 11 employees.
