Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation seeks a Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Professional to lead the development, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs across contract sites. You will ensure facility compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOS standards while minimizing risk and maintaining a healthy, safe workplace.

This role requires 6–8 years of EHS experience, SSHO Level 2 certification, and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in environmental health and safety.
• Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) Level 2 certification required.
• Secret clearance required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and health/safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety and environmental programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and DOS standards.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Train staff on EHS policies and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Reporting & documentation: maintain accurate compliance records and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Work in office and field environments; may require site visits and emergency response.
• Ability to move about facility environments and perform safety inspections.
