Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or chemical environment
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
• Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
• Demonstrated ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site-wide EHS programs
• Establish and track KPIs including TRIR, near misses, and environmental metrics
• Partner with leadership to integrate safety into daily operations and decision-making
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations
• Maintain environmental permits, reporting, and documentation
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans
• Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal
• Develop and deliver safety and environmental training programs
• Promote a proactive, behavior-based safety culture across all levels
• Serve as a coach to supervisors and employees on EHS best practices
• Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS matters and audits
• Advise leadership on risk, compliance, and operational safety improvements
• Has authority to halt unsafe work and recommend corrective action
