Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Petersburg, VA seeks a Senior Manager to oversee Environmental Health & Safety programs and personnel, ensuring a safe, compliant production environment. You will drive EHS strategies, lead the site team, and coordinate with regulators and internal partners to meet NN Way standards.

The role requires strong leadership, deep regulatory knowledge, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. This is a key position within our Virginia site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Associate degree with 10+ years in manufacturing (pharma/chemical preferred).
• High school diploma with 12+ years in manufacturing.
• Minimum of five years of direct leadership experience.
• Proven knowledge of state, federal and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to read P&ID, CAD drawings and related validation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site EHS programs and personnel to ensure an environmentally sound design and safe working environment.
• Develop and lead site environmental and safety strategies, objectives and targets.
• Monitor and report site performance in environment and safety, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Manage EHS team and drive accountability and results per NN Way.
• Oversee site emergency response, waste management programs and regulatory adherence.
