Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller seeks a Director, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) - North America to lead the development and execution of BW Packaging’s EHS strategy across North America. You will standardize governance, policies, and practices, partnering with Operations and People teams to embed safety into daily operations.

The role requires 10+ years in EHS leadership within manufacturing, and advanced certifications (CSP/CIH/CHMM/NEBOSH) are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, operations, engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH IGC or NEBOSH Diploma strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing EHS programs and influencing safety culture across multiple sites.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement standardized EHS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the EHS strategy aligned with business goals.
• Ensure global regulatory compliance and risk management across sites.
• Lead safety program and culture initiatives including incident investigation and RCCA.
• Oversee environmental compliance, waste management, and permitting.
• Manage US Workers’ Compensation and return-to-work programs.
• Drive training and safety culture through engagement and leadership.
