Job summary

BW Packaging seeks a Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) for North America to lead the development and execution of the EHS strategy. The role partners with Operations, Field Service and People teams to embed safety into daily practices and drive continuous improvement.

The position oversees workers’ compensation, environmental programs, incident investigations and training, with a focus on reducing injuries and ensuring regulatory compliance across BW Packaging sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, operations, engineering or related field required.
• Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead EHS strategy aligned with business goals and culture.
• Standardize EHS governance, policies, procedures across global sites.
• Advise leadership on EHS risks, trends, regulatory impacts.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and conduct global EHS audits.
• Lead safety programs (LOTO, fall protection, machine safety) and RCCA.
• Drive Workers’ Compensation strategy and cost control.
• Develop training programs and build a culture of safety ownership.
• Present EHS metrics and recommendations to executives.
