Job summary

United Petfood is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve EHS programs at the Decatur, Arkansas manufacturing facility. The role requires hands-on leadership and collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and HR to prioritize safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, with strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, with safety program responsibility.
• Experience in food or pet food manufacturing preferred; strong leadership and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-level EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance and safety performance.
• Develop and implement proactive safety strategies to reduce risks and injuries.
• Coach leaders and supervisors in hazard identification and safe work practices.
• Oversee OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements and incident investigations.
• Manage LOTO, confined space, machine guarding, PPE, and dust safety programs.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and HR to drive safety initiatives.
