Johnson & Johnson’s EHS organization in California is seeking an Experienced Analyst EHS to lead the Environmental, Health, & Safety (EH&S) Compliance Monitoring Programs and build a proactive safety culture at Santa Clara, CA, with support across other J&J locations.

The role requires strong expertise in Machine Safety, Permit to Work, LOTO and Management of Change, plus the ability to work with cross-site teams, travel as needed, and drive continuous improvements in EHS performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with strong Occupational Safety expertise.
• Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) experience with emphasis on Machine Safety, Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out and Management of Change.
• Experience identifying, evaluating, and controlling EHS risks in the workplace.
• Ability to collaborate with local EHS professionals and support additional multi-site EHS resources.
• Proficient in MS SharePoint and MS Office software programs.
• Ability to quickly interpret complex regulatory issues and provide recommended course of action.
• Ability and willingness to travel to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a high level of EHS performance for the site.
• Provide technical expertise for EHS programs: Ergonomics, Contractor Safety, Machine Safety, Risk Assessment, Management of Change, Lock Out Tag Out, Fall Prevention, and Emergency Preparedness.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as J&J EHS Standards including Management of Change.
• Partner with local management to develop and implement a site CAPA process to address EHS program deficiencies and ensure EHS regulatory compliance.
• Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in-class professional level of EHS globally.
• Set and monitor goals/objectives/assignments, provide adequate coaching/counseling to site functional leaders on EHS programs/processes via dashboards & reports.
• Review, update, develop required EHS programs including, but not limited to: IIPP, HMBP, HAZCOM, EAP, SOPs, LOTO/HECP, Confined Space Programs, Fire Prevention Programs, Biosafety, Lab Safety, Hot Works Program, Radiation/Laser Safety, Warehouse Safety and Chemical Inventory.
• Perform risk assessments, conduct machine safety risk assessments, and develop job safety analysis for automated and manual job functions.
• Perform analysis for reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies and J&J's corporate offices as appropriate and/or required.
• Perform routine EHS assessments, utilize the J&J Program Reviews, Assurance Audit, and Self Assessments to identify program specific deficiencies and areas of risk.
• Lead incident investigations for all reported injuries, including First Aid and Good Saves.
