Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to support the Hines Energy Complex and Florida generation facilities. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, lead safety initiatives, and provide guidance during outages and routine operations.

Ideal candidates bring advanced EHS knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a lead role across multiple sites, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Senior EHS Consultant level aligned to candidate experience.
• Minimum 6 years related work experience with degree; or 10 years with HS/GED.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements for construction and general industry.

Responsibilities

• Serves as subject matter expert for the site Health and Safety program.
• Supports procedures to help facilities comply with laws and regulations.
• Tracks regulatory changes, legislative activities, and industry standards.
• Interprets regulations with internal SMEs and authorities.
• Collaborates on internal/external industry committees and teams.
• Plans, organizes, communicates, and schedules work activities to meet goals.
• Develops and improves job-related knowledge to meet department expectations.
