Job summary

ERM is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Generalist based in Overland Park, Kansas, to join a global sustainability consultancy. You will contribute to regulatory compliance, site investigation, remediation, and due diligence on diverse client projects across industries.

The role requires a BS in engineering or environmental science with 2–5 years of experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to travel across the region.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, environmental science or related field with minimum 3.25 GPA or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant environmental experience or internships.
• Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather and challenging terrain.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports, and building tables/spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated consultancy traits: team orientation, eagerness to learn, self-starter, versatile, service-oriented.
• Highly organized with big-picture perspective; strong MS Office proficiency.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to client locations; not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation and remediation, and due diligence projects.
• Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, and stormwater programs.
• Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for property transactions.
• Perform fieldwork including sampling, ecological studies, drilling, well installation, and system maintenance.
• Compile and evaluate environmental data and assist in technical report preparation.
• Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule with high-quality deliverables.
