Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Senior Associate, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Generalist, based in Overland Park, Kansas. You’ll join a global sustainability consulting firm delivering practical EHS solutions for clients across industries, supporting compliance, site investigation, and remediation projects.

You’ll work with Project Managers and Partners, developing technical reports and contributing to fieldwork, data collection, and client deliverables while traveling to multiple client

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, environmental science or related field; minimum 3.25 GPA; or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of relevant environmental experience or professional internships.
• Strong commitment to safety; ability to work outdoors in variable weather and terrain.
• Detail-oriented with critical thinking and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports; building tables and spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated attributes to become a strong consultant: team-oriented, eager to learn, self-starter, versatile, service-oriented.
• Highly organized with a big-picture perspective.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Driver's License required; travel to client locations.
• Ability to travel and work independently.
• Ability to pass pre-hire background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation and remediation, and due diligence projects.
• Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, hazardous material management, oil spill prevention, and NPDES programs.
• Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to support property transactions.
• Perform fieldwork including sampling, ecological field studies, drilling, well installation, remedial pilot tests, construction oversight, and system operation and maintenance.
• Compile and evaluate environmental data and assist in technical report preparation.
• Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
