Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Generalist based in Indianapolis to blend technical expertise with real-world impact. You will partner with leading organizations across technology and transportation sectors, helping them navigate regulatory landscapes, reduce risk, and embed sustainability into their operations.

This role focuses on advancing EHS programs, performing site assessments, and delivering compliant, practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of EHS experience, ideally in technology, data centers, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or manufacturing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical and organizational abilities
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and travel locally up to 60% of the time
• Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area

Responsibilities

• Assist with EHS compliance, sustainability, and due diligence transaction projects
• Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, stormwater, and wastewater programs
• Conduct EHS compliance assessments and implement corrective actions to meet federal, state, and local regulations
• Support development of EHS compliance and management system programs
• Provide on-site EHS compliance support to clients as needed
• Perform Phase I environmental site assessments for property transfers
• Conduct environmental fieldwork and audits, including sampling and ecological studies
• Carry out inspections, incident investigations, safety observations, job safety analyses, and risk assessments based on OSHA requirements
• Collaborate with ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to deliver exceptional client service
