Job summary

BSI is seeking an EHS Consultant in Gaithersburg, MD to manage safety for multiple projects, educate contractors on EHS requirements, collect data, and deliver timely reports. The role emphasizes leadership, initiative, and collaboration across teams.

The candidate should have 8–10 years of construction safety experience, a BS in Safety or Engineering (CSP preferred), OSHA 30, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of proven experience in construction safety management and contractor safety management.
• Self-driven and capable to partner with team members and contractors to implement change.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities in cross-functional settings.
• Ability to educate stakeholders on EHS requirements and best practices.
• Comfort with data collection, reporting, and trend communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety for several projects by initiating meetings, site walks, and ensuring contract requirements are in place.
• Educate installation contractors and stakeholders on EHS requirements and best practices.
• Collect data, create timely reports, and communicate trends from field inspections to stakeholders.
• Observe onsite practices and develop solutions to improve employee health and safety.
• Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA) submittals and ensure adherence.
• Coach personnel on OSHA requirements and client expectations.
• Prepare slide decks and deliver training to clients and EHS professionals.
• Contribute to incident investigations to drive future improvement and safe practices.
