Job summary

Chewy is seeking an Associate Director, EHS – Compliance and Central Programs to lead a team of Senior Program Managers and serve as a technical authority across EHS Launch & Equipment Safety, M&R EHS, EHS Data & Systems, Injury Prevention/Ergonomics, and Policy Governance. You will own EHS compliance for the Fulfillment Network and partner with Legal on inspections.

The role requires a CSP, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 10+ years of EHS leadership, and strong regulatory acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
• CSP certification from BCSP is required.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience with demonstrated people leadership.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910/1926) and recordkeeping (29 CFR 1904).
• Experience partnering with Legal for inspections and enforcement actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of EHS SMEs across key domains and set performance expectations.
• Own EHS Compliance and Governance for the Fulfillment Network and maintain records.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
• Monitor regulatory landscape and drive policy and program changes.
• Maintain and roll out central EHS programs and governance lifecycle.
• Embed EHS requirements into capital projects, equipment programs, and processes.
• Oversee headcount planning, hiring, and development across Central Programs.
• Support governance and reporting on compliance posture and risk.
