Job summary

Chewy seeks an Associate Director, EHS – Compliance and Central Programs to lead a team of EHS SMEs and own compliance across the Fulfillment Network. You will partner with Legal and site stakeholders to ensure audit-ready programs and a robust regulatory posture.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Engineering, CSP, and 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership in multi-site environments. Competitive base salary and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
• CSP certification required.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience with demonstrated people leadership in a multi-site environment.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910/1926) and recordkeeping requirements (29 CFR 1904).
• Experience partnering with Legal to prepare for regulatory inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
• Broad technical EHS knowledge across equipment safety, injury prevention/ergonomics, EHS data and systems, M&R safety, and program/governance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and govern EHS programs and policies at network scale.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive cross-functional alignment on large-scale initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of Senior Program Managers serving as EHS SMEs across domains; set performance expectations.
• Own EHS compliance and governance for the Fulfillment Network; manage OSHA logs and 300A postings.
• Coordinate with Legal and site stakeholders for inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
• Monitor regulatory landscape and drive required program and policy changes across the network.
• Maintain central EHS programs and policy governance lifecycle across the network.
• Embed EHS requirements into capital projects, equipment programs, and business processes.
• Manage headcount planning, hiring, and development across Central Programs.
• Assist the Director of EHS with governance, cross-functional alignment, and reporting on compliance posture.
