Job summary

Celanese Washington Works Plant is seeking an EH&S Sr. Manager to lead development, implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health and safety programs across the site.

The role requires building and guiding a high-performance EHS team, aligning with site leadership to drive world-class EH&S and sustainability results while maintaining compliance and leading incident management.

Qualifications

• 4-year Bachelor’s degree in EHS management, engineering, or similar.
• At least 10 years of site operations related experience.
• 5+ years of strong leadership, people management and development skills in an industrial environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably chemical or petrochemical) and specifically experience in supporting operations functions.
• Experience and working knowledge of process safety, environmental, industrial health programs, and occupational safety programs and requirements.
• Experience and working knowledge of risk analysis regarding process safety risks.

Responsibilities

• Works with site director as part of the site leadership team to establish site EHS and sustainability strategy and long-range plans.
• Leads Environmental, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety and Security teams to achieve compliance.
• Influence and coach site leadership on action plans to improve process safety and emergency response.
• Develop and manage site KPI’s and metrics to measure safety initiatives and policies.
• Establish continuous improvement initiatives aligned with manufacturing operating model and HOP principles.
• Build collaborative relationships with state and local leaders to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Accountable for incident management at the site and for emergency and security response programs.
• Provide supervisory guidance and development to EHS team members to ensure skills are current.
