Job summary

Leidos in San Diego, CA is seeking an EH&S Engineer to join our Corporate EH&S team to support research and development, manufacturing, production, and testing locations across the region. You will help assess safety issues, develop training, and implement EH&S programs with minimal supervision.

The role requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 12+ years in EH&S, strong communication skills, and eligibility for a US DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 12+ years of EH&S experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Local to San Diego or willing to relocate; US citizenship and DoD clearance.
Willingness to travel within California and Washington.

Responsibilities

Assist leadership to assess and resolve safety issues by identifying risks and implementing controls, policies, and programs.
Identify training opportunities and develop presentations for EH&S awareness.
Conduct EH&S surveys, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance.
Perform risk assessments and monitor EH&S program implementation.
Coordinate PPE distribution and hazardous waste management.
Maintain California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) and environmental permitting.
Develop and deliver training on safety and environmental requirements.
Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) for non-office EH&S hazards.
Maintain SDS database and knowledge of safety regulations.
