Job summary

Leidos in San Diego, CA is seeking an EH&S Engineer to support our Corporate EH&S team across R&D, manufacturing, and testing sites. The role focuses on risk assessment, training, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance with travel within CA and WA.

You will manage PPE, hazardous waste, and environmental reporting (CERS), maintain permits, and deliver safety training. Candidates should have a BA/BS and 12+ years in EH&S, with US citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited university plus 12+ years of EH&S experience.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
• Effective teamwork and communication within a group.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assess and resolve safety issues by identifying risks and implementing controls.
• Identify training opportunities and develop presentations to raise awareness of EH&S programs.
• Perform EH&S surveys, inspections, and worksite audits to ensure compliance.
• Perform risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and monitor EH&S program implementation.
• Coordinate PPE allocation and safety equipment distribution.
• Maintain California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) and environmental permitting (air quality, stormwater, permits).
• Develop and deliver training related to safety and environmental requirements.
