Job summary

The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) seeks a full-time Agency Attorney Level III in the Equal Employment Opportunity Office. Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner of EEO, the role conducts investigations, interviews, document review, and prepares written findings and memos for action by FDNY bureaus.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• One year of US legal experience after bar admission or six months as Agency Attorney Interne.
• Maintain New York State Bar membership in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex EEO violations with minimal oversight.
• Interview complainants, respondents, and witnesses; gather documents.
• Prepare written summaries and closing memos for the Assistant Commissioner.
• Research EEO law, conduct compliance inspections, and draft intake reports.
• Provide EEO training to FDNY employees and units; assist with EEO statistics.
