Job summary

Douglas County High School in Castle Rock is seeking an Educational Assistant IV to provide intensive support to students with Significant Support Needs. The role centers on functional, academic, and life skills, including personal care, mobility, and safety within a structured learning environment.

You will work under a licensed special education teacher, assist with transitions, monitor health needs, and help implement IEP goals and behavior plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young adults with significant cognitive or physical disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for implementing IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols with high fidelity.
• Commitment to student dignity, safety, and promoting independence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with student positioning, transferring, and mobility using specialized equipment.
• Monitor and provide delegated health care procedures, including seizure monitoring and emergency medications.
• Maintain a safe, clean learning environment and supervise transitions and meals.
• Support implementation of IEP goals and daily living skills.
