Job summary

AAAS seeks a Project Manager to oversee planning and delivery of SRJ’s education activities in alignment with AAAS goals. The role designs and delivers training on science communication within the courts, mentors staff, and coordinates with science and law professionals. It is full-time, based in Washington, D.C., with up to three days of telework weekly.

Accountabilities include detailed project work plans, timelines, budgets, evaluation of outcomes, and travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible work experience.
• Proven success designing and scaling adult education programs in person and online.
• Translating complex scientific topics into accessible language.
• Curriculum design, workshop facilitation, and content creation experience.
• Preferred: experience with law or judicial education.
• Experience evaluating adult learning outcomes.
• Experience in program coordination and managing complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programs on science communication within the legal system.
• Collaborate with judges and judicial staff to tailor training to needs.
• Develop detailed project work plans with timelines and deliverables.
• Assess and evaluate project effectiveness.
• Mentor and manage junior staff.
• Travel domestically up to 20%.
