Job summary

Partners of the Americas is seeking a Senior Program Officer for the Education and Culture Program based in Washington, DC. You will manage day-to-day activities, ensure compliance with U.S.

government regulations, and coordinate with finance, communications, and monitoring teams to deliver results for the Education and Culture Program. The role requires strong project management, budget oversight, and stakeholder engagement skills, with fluency in English and preferably Spanish/Portuguese.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, education, international relations, or a related field is required.
• Minimum six years of relevant experience in program or grants management.
• At least two years in a senior program or project management role.
• Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience managing U.S. government-funded programs (USG).
• Experience managing sub-awards or subrecipients, including monitoring compliance and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the Education and Culture Program and ensure alignment with the approved Work Plan and proposal.
• Oversee application, review, and selection processes for exchange participants and sub-award applicants.
• Develop materials and resources for applicants and sub-award recipients; guide program agendas and cultural-immersion activities.
• Monitor program implementation and provide onboarding and technical assistance for sub-awardees.
• Ensure compliance with award terms, 2 CFR Parts 200/600, and Department of State terms and conditions and visa regulations.
