Job summary

Baskervill is seeking an experienced Architect/Project Designer for its Education Studio in Richmond, VA. The role covers a broad range of project types from laboratories to student spaces, requiring hands-on leadership across ideation to built results.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of architecture experience, NAAB-accredited degree, and licensure is preferred. Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma is essential, with a collaborative onsite presence in our Richmond office.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an NAAB-accredited institution.
• 8+ years of professional architecture experience, with 4+ years on commercial/institutional/education projects.
• Professional licensure preferred, or on the path to licensure.
• Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma.
• Experience in project architecture and management including consultant coordination and construction administration.
• Willingness to be onsite at our Richmond office and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from design conception to construction completion, balancing budget, schedule, and client specs.
• Lead a team of Architects, Engineers, and Interior Designers to coordinate documents and resolve construction issues.
• Support the Principal in Charge in addressing client priorities and maintaining smooth client relationships.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants on projects.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, reviewing their work and guiding career growth.
• Work on multiple projects of varying sizes, providing team guidance through all design phases.
