Baskervill in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Architect/Project Designer to contribute creativity, technical expertise, and strategic thinking across laboratories, education, dining, and campus spaces. The role focuses on projects from ideation to built results with ownership and collaboration across disciplines.

You will lead project architecture and management, mentor junior staff, coordinate with architects, engineers, and interior designers, and maintain strong client relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from NAAB-accredited school.
• 8+ years of professional architecture experience.
• Licensure preferred or on the path to licensure.
• Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma.
• Experience in project architecture, management, and construction administration.
• Willingness to travel to Baskervill offices or client locations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from design conception to construction completion while meeting budget, timeline, and client specifications.
• Help lead the team of Architects, Engineers and Interior Designers to manage design, coordinate construction documents, and resolve issues in construction administration.
• Support the Principal in Charge in addressing client priorities and maintaining smooth client relationships.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants on projects.
• Mentor and work closely with junior staff to review their work and support their career development.
• Work on multiple projects of varying sizes, providing team guidance through every phase of design.
