Job summary

Good Good Good, a small, mission-driven independent media company, seeks a Managing Editor to lead all editorial for our website and Goodnewspaper. This senior role is hands-on, with writing, editing, and strategic oversight, and reports to the Editor‑in‑Chief and CEO.

You will manage at least one direct report from day one, build systems, maintain high standards, and ensure timely monthly print deadlines while growing traffic and revenue.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in journalism or editorial roles.
• Experience leading editors or journalists.
• Proven ability to set editorial strategy and tone.
• Excellent writing and editing with clarity and accuracy.
• Comfort using data/analytics to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead content strategy across website and Goodnewspaper and set an editorial POV.
• Write original stories and edit others' work; oversee republishing.
• Oversee monthly Goodnewspaper production from brainstorm to print.
• Manage at least one direct report with plans to hire more.
• Build repeatable editorial processes for scaling while maintaining standards.
• Use analytics to grow traffic and revenue.
