The Managing Editor will lead all things editorial for our website and the Goodnewspaper, balancing hands‑on writing with team leadership. Reporting to the Editor‑in‑Chief and CEO, you set content strategy, develop a compact editorial squad, and ensure the monthly Goodnewspaper ships on time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of journalism experience across digital and/or print.
• Experience managing other journalists or editors.
• Strong writing and editing with clear tone and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills to juggle deadlines and contributors.
• Comfort using traffic analytics and SEO data to inform decisions.
• Familiar with print production workflows.
• Curatorial mindset with ability to develop themed story ideas.
• Ability to explain complex topics to a general audience.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial strategy for the website and Goodnewspaper.
• Write original stories and edit teammates' work.
• Oversee republishing aligned articles from partners.
• Create clear, specific headlines meeting style guidelines.
• Ensure accuracy, tone, and formatting across all content.
• Produce monthly Goodnewspaper from concept to print export.
• Plan schedules and coordinate writers, designers, and contributors.
• Develop repeatable editorial processes to scale the team.
• Use analytics to inform editorial decisions and growth.
