Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5–7 years of editorial, publishing, journalism, or comparable experience.
• Strong editing, writing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
• Experience managing publications, contributors, and editorial production.
• Digital publishing experience and an understanding of how audiences consume content today.
• Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Personal alignment with our client's Christian faith, beliefs, values, and missionary purpose.
• Experience within or familiarity with the client's denomination is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Editorial strategy and production across web and print.
• The evolution of their publication into a digital-first content platform.
• Editorial calendars, publishing schedules, contributors, and workflows.
• Commissioning and editing stories focused on faith, theology, ministry, and mission.
• Recruiting and developing writers and freelance contributors.
• Editing for voice, clarity, accuracy, consistency, and audience engagement.
• Maintaining editorial standards and style guidelines.
• Collaboration with storytelling, UX, creative, and organizational leadership.
• Publication budgets and freelance resources.
• Research, fact-checking, and content alignment.
• Occasional travel for events and story-gathering assignments.
