Job summary

QinetiQ US in the Washington, DC area is seeking an Editor/Researcher to provide production editing support for a fast-paced environment at the National Guard Bureau. You will review and refine written products for clarity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, and support research and writing for official communications.

Qualifications include an active Secret clearance, a BA in English or related field, and 5+ years editing and writing experience.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or related field.
• 5+ years editing, proofreading, correspondence review, publication support, and writing QA experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience writing, editing, and researching in an editorial career field.

Responsibilities

• Review, revise, and edit correspondence daily for grammar, clarity, formatting, and regulatory compliance.
• Assess readability and proper use of formal writing conventions; communicate findings to originators.
• Track status of in-progress tasks and coordinate with staff to move documents through review.
• Provide production editing support for official publications, policies, and guidance documents.
• Draft and refine responses to formal requests for information with appropriate tone and accuracy.
• Support materials for high-visibility hearings and leadership engagements.
