Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Senior Editor to lead editorial quality control for high-visibility executive correspondence and publications for the National Guard Bureau. This role sets standards, reviews and edits products before leadership, and mentors editors on tone, format, and accuracy.

The position requires a Top Secret clearance, a Bachelor's degree in English or related field, and 8+ years in executive communications and technical editing within federal or military contexts.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years in executive correspondence, technical editing, and strategic communications within federal or military organizations.

Responsibilities

• Review, edit, and route incoming correspondence for grammar, formatting, and regulatory compliance.
• Assess documents for clarity, tone, and readability against executive writing standards.
• Upload, track, and close items in NGB’s tasking system to meet deadlines.
• Provide recommendations on development and editing of policies, instructions, memoranda, and formal guidance.
• Review official publications and correspondence for policy impact.
• Offer editorial advice to staff drafting documents and tasking responses.
• Manage a queue of documents through editorial review and prioritize work.
• Monitor distribution channels for announcements and coordinate release with approvals.
• Support development of SOPs and business rules with drafting and proofreading.
• Maintain master policy documents and publish updates.
• Provide editorial and admin support to senior staff and training materials.
