Job summary

Chewy is seeking a Senior Editor, Automation & Content Optimization to shape editorial content for PetMD and Chewy Education, blending editorial excellence with data-driven decision-making and AI capabilities across web, email, and social channels.

You will lead optimization of a large library of pet health and educational content, collaborating with SEO, analytics, and product teams to build AI-powered tools and uphold high editorial standards in an AI-enabled workflow.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in digital publishing, editorial, or content strategy.
• Strong SEO knowledge including keyword strategy, on-page optimization, and performance analysis.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation workflows in editorial settings.
• Process-oriented with a product mindset in content space.
• Data-driven and proficient with analytics to inform decisions.
• Ability to move quickly and prioritize in response to traffic/performance changes.
• Understanding of content behavior across channels (organic, email, social).
• Detail-oriented editing with accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborative and cross-functional with editorial, SEO, product, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead optimization across a large library of pet health and educational content to improve search, email engagement, social distribution, and referrals.
• Partner with SEO, analytics, and marketing teams to identify opportunities and respond quickly to changes.
• Work with product and engineering to build AI-powered tools to streamline workflows and enhance editorial output.
• Develop and reinforce high quality standards that center human expertise in an AI-enabled workflow.
• Optimize articles, headlines, metadata, formatting, and content structure for SEO, engagement, and conversions.
• Collaborate with social and email teams to adapt content for multi-channel distribution.
• Balance speed and quality to ensure accurate, brand-aligned, trustworthy updates.
