Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Software Developer (EDI) to own EDI workflows, validate data, and troubleshoot complex transaction sets in a largely remote U.S. environment. The role requires Edifecs expertise, strong SQL skills, and collaboration with EDI analysts, DevSecOps, cloud teams, and business stakeholders.

Security clearance for Public Trust is applicable. The successful candidate will ensure accurate processing, support audits, and maintain data quality across payer/provider

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on EDIFECS experience in EDI X.12 transactions.
• Experience interpreting EDI error detail and SNIP validations.
• Knowledge of payer/provider workflows and HIPAA basics.

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows and data validation rules.
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets (270/271, 276/277, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA).
• Document mapping requirements for new partners and changes.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and stakeholders.
• Validate payloads, timestamps, statuses, and error flags.
• Query SQL for transaction details and reconcile data.
