Job summary

Resideo is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in its Innovation division to help build the next generation of edge computing, spatial intelligence, and IoT platforms for the connected home. This hands-on role emphasizes architecture, prototypes, and production-quality systems across devices, edge workloads, and intelligent agents.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in technology environments.
• Hands-on software development in compiled languages (Rust, C/C++, Go).
• Experience in R&D, prototyping, or exploratory environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build core components of edge computing and spatial intelligence platforms.
• Develop an edge runtime and integration platform spanning devices across the home.
• Model and organize data so knowledge is usable by edge apps, mobile experiences, and intelligent agents.
• Take complex problems from concept to prototype to production, enabling rapid testing and iteration.
• Evaluate technologies and architectural approaches for scalability, reliability, performance, portability, and maintainability.
• Provide architectural guidance, review code, and promote strong software engineering practices.
