Job summary

Bloomberg is seeking a Senior Data Management Professional – Economics News Automation to lead end-to-end automation of headline generation and economic data workflows. You will coordinate across News, Engineering, and Product to ensure outputs are accurate, timely, and auditable.

The role emphasizes data quality, operational resilience, and scalable automation, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and drive modernization across acquisition, extraction, validation, and publishing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience in data management, data operations, data engineering, or automation.
• Understanding of data lifecycle from acquisition to publishing.
• Experience designing automated data workflows and ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, scripting, data analysis, or visualization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end automated news and economic data workflows across acquisition, extraction, validation, publishing, monitoring, remediation, and scheduled or event-driven delivery.
• Prioritize incidents, enhancements, and remediation based on market impact, client value, operational risk, and coverage criticality.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and News teams to drive automation-first workflows and production readiness.
• Define and maintain standards for automation quality, source reliability, extraction accuracy, timeliness, and governance.
• Design monitoring and validation frameworks to provide end-to-end visibility and anomaly handling.
• Research and onboard new data sources, defining source logic and lifecycle management.
• Apply AI, machine learning, and human-in-the-loop methods to improve ingestion and publishing.
• Influence data modeling, metadata, lineage, and release readiness; mentor colleagues on automation practices.
